From the airport to Dortmund

There is a direct AirportExpress bus service between the airport and Dortmund Central Bus Station every hour. The journey time is 25 minutes. The bus runs non-stop. One-way fares are €6 for adults and €2 for children (6-14 years old). Children under 6 years of age ride free of charge.

Note: The Dortmund bus station is located next to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (main railway station).

There is also the AirportShuttle bus between the airport and the nearby Holtzwickede railway station (from where you can take a train to Dortmund). The bus also travels non-stop. The journey takes only 5 minutes. The fare is €1.5.

It is also possible to get to Dortmund city centre by taxi for €22-25 (metered drivers).

Another option for getting into town from the airport: Bus No.440 connects the airport to Aplerbeck station, which is the terminus of the U49 underground line. There you can transfer to the U-Bahn U47, which runs towards Dortmund Hauptbahnhof via Stadtgarten. The journey time is about 45 minutes. The ticket costs €2.30.
