How to get from Lviv Airport to city centre

Danylo Halytskyi Lviv International Airport is located 6km from the city centre of Lviv. It owes its present appearance to the European Football Championship held in Lviv in 2012. In the run-up to this sporting event a new building was constructed next to the old one, which does not meet modern standards.

From the airport to Lviv

As the airport is located within the city, getting into and around the centre of Lviv is not a problem.

From public transport, airport passengers are served by bus and trolleybus routes, whose stops are located at the exit of the new terminal.

Bus No.48 runs through the Old Town. Its final stop is on Prospekt Svobody which is home to Lviv Opera House, one of the city’s landmarks. The fare is 4 Ukrainian hryvnias (approximately €0.14). The interval for this route is 10-15 minutes.

Trolleybus No.9 also connects the airport with the centre of Lviv, ending near the Franko University, just before reaching Prospect Svoboda. Along the way, trolleybus No.9 covers another landmark of the city – St. Jura Cathedral. The ticket costs 2 hryvnias and the interval is 10 minutes.

If you take a taxi, the fare to the city centre starts at 80 hryvnias (around €3).
