How to get from Bromma Airport to Stockholm

Bromma Stockholm Airport

Bromma Stockholm Airport International Airport is located 7 km from the business part of Stockholm. Of all the airports serving the Swedish capital, Bromma Stockholm is the closest to the city. In terms of passenger traffic, it is one of the top three in the country.

Bromma Stockholm Airport is not very large, and has just one terminal, with free wireless Internet access throughout as long as it is used for no more than 3 hours or until the 100 mb limit is exceeded.

According to the classification of the International Air Transport Association, Bromma Stockholm Airport has been assigned a code ‘BMA’.

The airport’s official website is www.swedavia.com/bromma/.

From the airport to Stockholm

Given the location of the airport, getting into the centre of Stockholm is easy. All you need to do is take one of the bus routes. This is the cheapest and most convenient way to get to Stockholm.

On the left-hand side of the terminal is the Flygbussarna bus stop. 20 minutes and you’re in Downtown! The bus ends at the Cityterminalen bus station. You can buy tickets from the newsagent in the terminal building, from a ticket machine at the bus stop or from the driver. It is also possible to buy tickets in advance by visiting the bus operator’s website – www.flygbussarna.se/en/Bromma. The fare is 75 Swedish kronor (about €8). It is noteworthy that bus departures are linked to flight schedules.

Alternatively, if you have a connecting flight and need to depart from Stockholm-Arland Airport, then the same bus will help you, just choose the appropriate destination. The ticket will then cost 99 Swedish kronor (€10).

There are also city buses No.110 and No.152 running between the airport and the Swedish capital. The latter is preferable if the destination is Stockholm’s historic centre. Journey time will be half an hour or more, depending on traffic. Tickets will cost 43 Swedish kronor (€4.50) if purchased from a ticket machine at the bus stop or from the Stockholm Public Transport (SL) ticket office, and 60 Swedish kronor (€6.30) if purchased inside the bus. The designated buses stop just past the Flygbussarna stop.

A similar taxi ride into the city centre will cost 300-350 Swedish kronor, and the whole trip will take 15 minutes. Again, in the absence of traffic jams, which are not uncommon here.
