Memmingen International Airport is located in Germany, in the village of Memmingerberg, 4 km from the city of Memmingen and 110 km from Munich. It is a former military airfield.
The airport itself is small and mostly used by low-cost airlines such as Wizz Air and Ryanair. It is considered a low-cost alternative to Munich Airport and is also positioned as Memmingen/Munich West airport.

How to get from the airport to Munich
You can take the Allgäu-Airport-Express shuttle bus outside the airport. Tickets can be purchased from the driver – €18 one-way (€15 if you buy your ticket online). You will find all the information you need on the carrier’s website at www.allgaeu-airport-express.de.
Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Second option: take a local bus and in 10 minutes you will be at Memmingen train station. The price of a bus ticket is €2.50.
Then it’s on to Munich by train. Fares start at €19.
